The durability, reliability and trustworthiness of a product is crucial in our industry and that is why FESI pays particular attention to all matters concerning product safety and standardisation. The Product Safety Committee brings together experts from the sporting goods industry to represent FESI in all the relevant European fora.
FESI is closely involved in the revision of the ‘New Approach’ Directives and represents the sporting goods industry with the European Commission to effectively manage the impact of the review. FESI pays particular attention to the impact the revision will have on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive.
FESI also has a well developed network within all the European organisations dealing with issues that impact on product safety, for example the European Standards Organisation (CEN), the Horizontal Committee of Notified Bodies (HCNB) and the European Safety Federation (ESF).
